  The Chicago Consultant Exchange
A Learning Community Process
Offered by Millennia Consulting, LLC

Presenter:
Mr.
James Troxel, Millennia Consulting, LLC

MSPC members and guests will be part of a select audience who will participate in this unique “Consultant Exchange” process.   The topic of discussion will be Chapter One of the book “Switch”, by the Heath Brothers – available online at no cost at: http://heathbrothers.com/switch/chapterone.php  In the book “Switch”, “The Heath brothers address motivating employees, family members, and ourselves in their analysis of why we too often fear change. Change is not inherently frightening, but our ability to alter our habits can be complicated by the disjunction between our rational and irrational minds: the self that wants to be swimsuit-season ready and the self that acquiesces to another slice of cake anyway. The trick is to find the balance between our powerful drives and our reason.”  Publisher’s Weekly

Methodology

· To convene a session of independent consultants who practice across multiple disciplines in the public and private sectors in order to share best practices and lessons learned

· To make these consultants part of a “learning community” that strives to continually upgrade professional skills, intellectual capital and methodological prowess

· To expand consultants’ market intelligence by being part of an ongoing dialogue about trends, needs, and opportunities in the public and private service sectors

· To expand the group of consultants with whom you might wish to network and collaborate in the future

The Consultants Exchange session will have two parts (pre-dinner and post dinner):

· A review and discussion of Chapter One of the book “Switch”, by the Heath Brothers (described above)

· A sharing of lessons learned from the field in small-group round table fashion as they may relate to the issues discussed in part 1
