HAVE WE GOT A DEAL FOR YOU…Helping Small Entrepreneurs Access Business Resources in a Big Way

Many small and emerging businesses lack the financial or human resources needed to develop, manufacture, market and sell their products and/or services.  The speaker will explain how the Center helps companies identify and access resources, strengthen business knowledge and form strategic alliances in the areas that are most critical to their businesses such as technology, capital acquisition, marketing, accounting, and organizational development.  The presenter will also provide examples of the Center's programs that include one-to-one peer mentoring, networking opportunities, technology assessments and consulting.

 Presenter: David Weinstein

Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center,

Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce

David Weinstein brings to the Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center a wealth of experience in both entrepreneurship and government relations.  Most recently, he led David Weinstein & Associates, LLC, a Chicago-based consulting firm assisting businesses in extending their services and products to the public sector.  Previously, Weinstein was president and CEO of BlueMeteor, a technology firm he helped launch and grow to $5 million in revenue and 110 employees.  At BlueMeteor, he led the firm in successfully raising $30 million of venture capital. Earlier, he was Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley's senior technology advisor. In this role, he managed Chicago's Technology Development Initiative and started the Mayor's Council of Technology Advisors.

Leveraging Your Personal Expertise to Win Business

You've worked hard.  You have years of experience.  People who know you consider you an "expert" in your field.  The question is, do you have as much business as you would like to have?

During this session we'll explore ways you can increase your business through word-of-mouth "advertising".  We'll analyze how to create memorable sound bites that will make it easy for others to refer business to you.  We'll discuss how to work with your best clients to create living testimonials that will bring you business.  We'll review some new and some under-used tried-and-true approaches to getting your message out to prospective clients.

 Presenter: Stan Piskorski
