Program Sexual Harassment in the Workplace - Skits Members of Chicago's Noble Fool Theater Company will present scenarios depicting both subtle and obvious forms of sexual harassment in the workplace. The Noble Fool Theater Company consists of twenty-six artists who represent a diverse range of comic theater experience, from Chicago improv to musical comedy, from performance poetry to cabaret, and from light opera to dance. Noble Fool Theater Company Bios MARY FAHEY HUGHES is a member of The Noble Fool Theater Company. Mary has a B.A. in Theater from Southern Illinois University. She has taught improvisation and theater workshops with The Noble Fool, The Second City Training Center, The Free Associates and The Art Institute of Chicago’s Young Artists Studios. Her performance credits with Noble Fool include Flanagan’s Wake, The Baritones, Sex in the Suburbs and Roasting Chestnuts. She has also performed in the Noble Fool Cabaret with the singing trio The Marabous. In addition, Mary appeared with The Free Associates in Cast on a Hot Tin Roof in their Chicago, New Orleans and Toronto productions, As We Like It: Shakespeare in Your Face, Blithering Heights, B.S., and Pick-a-Dick. She also appeared in Sive and The Patrick Pearse Motel with the Irish American Heritage Center and The Importance of Being Ernest with The Irish Theater Guild. NORAH HELLING is a founding member of The Noble Fool Theater Company. Norah has taught improvisation and theater workshops with The Noble Fool. She also co-wrote and directed The Noble Fool and Chicago SafeKids Coalition’s children’s outreach show The Safety Squad. Her Noble Fool credits include Kerouac Jack, The Baritones, Sex in the Suburbs and Roasting Chestnuts. She has also appeared in Lunacy, the Killing Game, Trust, and Problem Child. In Chicago, Norah has worked with Stockyards, Trapdoor, Northlight, and Citylit theaters and was an inaugural member of The Steppenwolf Theatre Ensemble Project. TIM SCHUENEMAN is a member of The Noble Fool Theater Company. Tim has taught improvisation and theater workshops with The Noble Fool, Chicago Comedy Company and Novel Ideas, which uses improvisation to teach elementary school children creative writing skills. His Noble Fool credits include The Complete History of America (Abridged), Mirandolina, Roasting Chestnuts, The Baritones and guest spots in the Noble Fool Cabaret. He has performed with Plumb Dumplings at ImprovOlympic, Chicago Comedy Company at The Playground and in Musical! The Musical at the Theater Building.

Sexual Harassment in the Workplace - Panel DiscussionThe after dinner program will feature a panel of three attorneys, who specialize in workplace sexual harassment cases, and two Human Resource Directors of Chicago Area Corporations whose workloads include this serious workplace issue. The panel will review the pre-dinner scenarios as well as others from their own experiences and will also respond to questions and comments from the audience. Attorney - Bios Alan King - (attorney) - this bio is attached to the email message as a PDF Mitchell A. Kline Mitchell Kline graduated from Harvard University with honors in 1975 and from Indiana University School of Law in 1978. Mr. Kline worked as an Assistant State's Attorney [ASA] for Cook County, Illinois from 1978 to 1983. As an ASA he tried 12 jury trials and over 100 bench trials, winning more than 90% of the trials, including 2 convictions for rape. Mr. Kline was an owner of Kline's Department Store in Chicago Heights, Illinois from 1983 to 1995. He supervised all personnel, legal, administrative, and financial matters for this family owned business with 150 employees. From 1996 to 1998 Mr. Kline was an Administrative Law Judge at the Illinois Human Rights Commission. He decided and mediated sexual harassment and disability, sex, age, and race discrimination cases. Of the 30 cases he was assigned to mediate, 20 were concluded with mutually agreeable financial settlements. Mr. Kline has worked as a sole practitioner from 1999 through the present. He has represented employees and employers in sexual harassment, discrimination, and workers' compensation cases. He has settled and tried numerous cases in federal and state courts. Beth T. Golub
Chicago Office Area of Practice Labor and Employment Law Experience Ms. Golub is a senior associate concentrating her practice in labor and employment law, representing public and private employers of all sizes and from myriad industries. She specializes in employment litigation, particularly claims involving sexual and other types of illegal harassment. Ms. Golub also regularly represents employers in defending against discrimination claims based on race, age, gender, disability, FMLA, and issues arising under state law claims and ERISA. Her practice is nationwide and involves representation in federal court, state court and before various administrative agencies. Ms. Golub also helps her clients with compliance and avoiding litigation by providing advice and counsel with day-to-day personnel, hiring, termination, discipline, accommodation and leave request issues. Additionally, Ms. Golub represents school districts in the area of special education law. Prior to joining Seyfarth Shaw, Ms. Golub worked for three years as an Assistant District Attorney for the Cobb Judicial Circuit in Atlanta, Georgia. In this capacity she handled hundreds of felony prosecutions, and acted as lead or sole counsel in approximately 50 jury trials. She began as a general felony trial attorney and was subsequently promoted to a supervisory position, where she was responsible for prosecuting all cases and supervising the unit responsible for felony prosecutions against children. Responsible for all HR functions for multi-state operations of real estate management, development firm, including government compliance, staffing, compensation benefits, employee relations, and administration of HR policies and procedures. (See www.urbanretail.com for Company overview) Prior to position with Urban, I spent five years at Marshall Fields as a human resources manager for department store operations, operated as internal management development consultant as well as manager training and development. Prior to Fields worked for Bank of America in Chicago, New York and San Francisco in recruiting capacity. MBA George Washington University-concentration Labor (and what was then called "Personnel"!) Relations BA State University of New York at Buffalo - Economics/Political Science Barbara Wood is currently the Vice President of Human Resources for CNA Surety, an affiliate of CNA Insurance Company. CNA Surety offers surety and fidelity bonds and is the largest publicly traded surety company. She serves on the HR Advisory Committee for the Surety Association of America. She holds a bachelor degree in Business Management from Southern Illinois University, a master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Keller Graduate School of Management and an Organizational Development certification from DePaul University. Over her 12-year career Barbara has held Human Resources positions with Hilton Hotels, Chicago Title and Trust, Grand Premier Financial and The Prime Group.
