This presentation will consist of a review of the Chinese culture including the current business/political climate, in contrast with U. S. business culture and business/political climate. This presentation will include:

- an overview of the people, culture and political climate of China

Richard Allison - Allison & Associates, LLC - Bio
Richard 0. Allison is Managing Director for Allison and Associates LLC of Oakbrook Terrace, IL. As such, he oversees thc manufacture of products for his own and other companies in China, performs printing services, and provides marketing, manufacturing & consulting services for both U.S. & and Chinese clients. He has operated in the Pacific Rim for thirty years, interfacing with projects in Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Mainland China.
Richard, a specialist in start-up ventures, has developed and marketed a number of consumer and industrial products in the
U.S., and is now assisting Chinese companies in entering this market. Past customer/clients include Sears, Wilson, Masonite, Alert Devices, Analytic Systems Laboratories and the Intense Company.
Richard also serves as a principal with BestWay Consulting Group, and as the Executive Director for the Technology Education Institute, a newly formed not-for-profit to be operated in China

The after-dinner program for the May 5, 2004 MSPC Meeting, at the Clarion Hotel in Rosemont, provides an opportunity for attendees to present their specific business problems to a small group of other consultants, in a roundtable setting, and get feedback. This 45-minute program segment should be useful for both new and experienced consultants. Non-members are welcome to attend and participate.
There will be separate tables to address four categories of business issues:
- Finance,
- Marketing/Advertising/Public Relations,
- Sales/Prospecting and
- Legal/Insurance.
Each table will have a “moderator” who will keep track of the time and keep the discussion moving.
